Hosting Details

1.  Contact us and we will pick 2-3 possible dates that work for your group and fit into our calendar.  You will need to find out how much interest there is in your area.  The Host is responsible to get the first 20 registrations.  If we cannot get enough registrations, we may need to postpone the event until there is more interest in your area.

2.  You need to check with a location, such as your church, to see if a room is available on the dates you picked.  You probably should see if they will put the seminar on the calendar but let them know this is tentative for now.  We will need a room that seats 75-100 people, plus an area for tables to be set up for the colleges and snacks for during the break.  This is often in a separate room.

3. Once we  know the location, we will confirm the date and make sure all is set with the facility.  The original 20 families must pay within two weeks. They may mail a check or pay via Paypal.  If we do not have 20 families, the event may be canceled.

4. We will begin to advertise to the home school community in the counties surrounding the location of the seminar.  This is usually done via email.

5. If time and location allow, I will contact colleges to let them know about the seminar.  If there is one you are especially interested in close to you, I will be glad to contact them also.

6.  On the day of the seminar, you will need to have the tables set up for the colleges and for me to display some samples of curriculum.  The doors usually open at 5:00-5:30 for set-up, and at 5:30 for those attending.  I will need someone to sit at the registration table to sign people in, collect from the "walk-ins" and hand out binders.

7.  Please provide light snacks such as ice water, cookies, coffee, etc. for during the break.  Also, you will need to clean up at the end of the event.

    Here is the usual schedule:

5:00-5:30 Doors open, colleges set up, I set up registration
table curriculum sample table
    5:45 Doors open for attendees
    6:00 Begin presentation
    7:45 Colleges begin to speak
    8:00 Break - snacks
8:15 Resume seminar & Colleges pack up to leave
   10:00  End of presentation

7.  Most of the work of hosting is setting up the event in the first place and then the day of the event.  Between times, I handle most of the PR, contacting colleges, questions about the event, and collecting registrations.  Most hosts find that there are a number of folks willing to help with snacks and the registration table.

Please contact us if you are interested in hosting a seminar or have any questions.

The Host of each Seminar attends FREE!
We must have a minimum of 20 families registered to hold a seminar.

registration deadline.

3.  Publicize the event within their home school community
4.  On the day of the event, set up and clean up.
